Lowell Darling, The Next Governor Lowell Darling: A Fund Raising One Thousand Dollar a Plate Dinner (8pm, 8th March 1978)

Description

Lowell Darling is the first performance artists ever to run for govorner of the state of California. In his honor, a fund-raising $1,000-a-plate-dinner was held at the Museum of Conceptual Art. Using a third hand and a pair of cotton lips, saving his own limbs for later, Darling greeted his supporters and stated his platform. Some of his slogans and promises are presented below:

The part of the state budget presently allocated to building highways, roads, buildings and the space shuttle program will be used to hire people to be themselves for the Sate of California […]

All billboards will be put in one location rather than being spread through the state. Visitors will drive through it like Lion Safari Country.
