Jim Melchert, Location Project #10: Paramount Theater Oakland (4th November 1974)

Description

The site for the Location Project will be the south wall of the Paramount Theater as seen from 20th Street. I’ve been checking out the building and find it’s a good one to work with. The projector will be located across the street at Capwell’s. I’ll be projecting one slide for two hours each night for a week. The slides will transpose parts of the building to the wall, setting up a new relationship to the building itself. A matter of making a structure out of combined points of view. (Melchert 1974)
