Description
While I was performing as “The Waitress” I was called to serve on a jury. It was she who appeared for JURY DUTY. Once chosen and in the courtroom, wearing all my old clothes, I recognized that all of the participants were performing. After the trial, I created a piece called Well Liked and Learned Lawyers Win Cases, which was a living tableau and a pseudo-legal explication of my thinking. It was the defense for my actions, lest they be questioned. (Burnham and Sherk 1981: 66)
